people interested in taking up a PATH placement. We also have the support of

of BME people through the provision of vocational training, education

working towards a more balanced and representative workforce

WHAT IS OUR BACKGROUND AND
HISTORY?
Path (Yorkshire) Ltd is a
company limited by guarantee formed under the auspices of the local
authority in 1985. It is a registered charity and, with the guidance from
our management committee, PATH has become the leading Positive Action
organisation in the country, working in partnership with the academic,
business, statutory and voluntary sectors.
PATH has been endorsed by the
Secretary of State for Employment under Section 37 and 38 of the Race
Relations Act 1976, as a Positive Action organisation that can provide
training, education and encouragement to BME communities within vocational
areas where they are under-represented. This means that where research has
identified that BME people are under-represented in a particular field of
employment, as compared to the number of BME people in the population, then
it is lawful for PATH to recruit and provide training that will equip them
to compete for employment in these areas.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PATH?
Council of Management
PATH is managed by a Council of
Management. Council members are elected and represent a cross section of the
community and business organisations PATH works with.
Our Council of Management is
