Employers

PATH Yorkshire is a registered charity and supported by Leeds City Council to provide Positive Action Training to Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities by working with employers in creating placements for BMEs, as provided for in Section 158 of the Equality Act 2010.

PATH Yorkshire continues to provide a cost-effective recruitment option for employers in Leeds and other parts of the Yorkshire region through various PATH programmes.

PATH Programmes for employers to choose:

1. GRADUATE and MAINSTREAM

The programme for employers seeking specific skills, experience, and training for up to 37 hours per week. Employers will determine the duties and responsibilities with person specification for each post. Employers will shortlist and interview the candidates with PATH. When employers appoint the successful applicants, PATH will deliver an Induction Programme with Health and Safety training before they start their placements. The trainees will be based at the employers' designated work/office area and operate by the employers policies and procedures. PATH will continue to support the employers throughout the work placement partnership contract which is either a 6 or 12 month period.  Employers are NOT required to guarantee an employment contract after the work placement. Positions in this programme will be open for applicants aged 16 plus. Cost to employers will be a minimum training allowance of £9,500 per annum for Mainstream and £12,000 per annum for the Graduate Programme, plus applicable management fees.

2. PRE-APPRENTICESHIP

The programme will be open to applicants aged 16 to 24 years old only who are able to commit full time work, of up to 35 hours per week. Employers will determine the duties and responsibilities with person specification for each pre-apprenticeship post. Employers will shortlist and interview the candidates with PATH. The programme will be up to 6 months and are not required to guarantee an employment contract after the pre-apprenticeship programme. Cost to employers will be the training allowance of £110 per week, plus applicable management fees.

PATH Yorkshire will advertise, promote, and publicise the positions through different media, job and careers fairs, Leeds City Council website, Job Centre Plus, different community groups and local venues.
